Data protection

Most data protection advice in India is written by lawyers who have never shipped software, for engineers who have never read a statute, and the gap between the two is where compliance programmes fail. Rohan sits on both sides of it. He read Mathematics and Computing at IIT Delhi and spent sixteen years building and running technology companies before he was enrolled.

That background is the point of his practice here. A notice obligation becomes a question about which screen and which event; a retention period becomes a deletion routine that has to run across production, analytics and backups; a consent record becomes a schema. He writes advice that specifies what to build, and can hold the conversation with a client’s engineering team without an interpreter.

Property

Title investigation, sale and transfer documentation, partition and possession disputes, and litigation over agricultural and urban property in Punjab and Haryana — a jurisdiction with its own revenue records, its own tenancy legislation and its own long memory of who held what.

Motor accident claims

Claims before the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, for claimants and for insurers. These are matters where the law is settled and the outcome turns on evidence: the charge sheet, the medical record, the proof of income and dependency. Rohan runs them on the documents.

Criminal

Bail, quashing and trial work before the courts in Punjab and Haryana, including matters with a technology or financial element — cyber offences, cheating and the digital evidence questions that increasingly decide them.

Background

Rohan holds an LL.B. and a B.Tech and M.Tech in Mathematics and Computing from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. He is enrolled with the Bar Council of Punjab & Haryana and practises from Amritsar.
